BOOMBABA is the moniker of Mumbai based Dj/Producer
Tarun Shahani who started producing electronic music almost two decades back
while he was a Dj & host with MTV, hosting
shows like Club MTV, Made in India etc.
A model,
actor (to have acted in movies like Bombay Boys), BOOMBABA is India's answer to BassNectar, an absolute powerhouse on the console that's reckoned to have spun at more than 1000 parties & top music festivals including
a seven time Sunburn Goa stint, Go Madras, Nh7 Weekender, Kundalini, Sunrise
Slot Hilltop NYE, Aurus Sundown, Beatblender to name a few.
Playing alongside global heavyweights like Shpongle, Umek, Pig & Dan, SOS, GMS & James Harcourt, BOOMBABA
is accredited to be the first Indian artist to be released on an
International Psytrance Compilation on Third Eye Records; also scoring mixes for
Shalom, Times Music & Music Today.
His real obsession with audio manipulation started with a collective project with producer & composer, Vinayak Manohar stated as BOOMBAY CENTRAL that has seen many collaborations with other artists like Karsh Kale, Midival punditz, Son Kite, Ashvin from Jalebee Cartel, Nirav Gandhi from Junkt etc with the sounds ranging from emotional deep progressive electronica to chilled ethnic grooves to minimal tech, progressive, psychedelic, glitch hop and breaks. Boombay Central has been famously featured in ‘MTV Soundtrippin’, co- producing three songs with Sneha Khanwalkar.
